WHEN DOES CPR COME IN HANDY?

STROKE

A stroke occurs when a blood vessel that carries oxygen and nutrients to the brain is either blocked by a clot or bursts (or ruptures).

Stroke symptoms include:

  • blurred vision, dim vision, or loss of vision, especially in one eye

  • tingling, weakness, or numbness on one side of the body

  • nausea

  • loss of bladder or bowel control

  • headache

  • dizziness or lightheadedness

  • loss of balance or consciousness

A heart attack usually occurs when a blood clot blocks blood flow to the heart. Without blood, tissue loses oxygen and dies.

Symptoms includes:

  •  tightness or pain

    • in the chest

    • in the neck

    • in the back or armsā€‹

  • Fatigue

  • Lightheadedness

  • Abnormal heartbeat

  • Anxiety.
